The Davis-Bacon Act passed in 1931 and Related Acts covers federally funded and assisted contracts with a dollar value in an excess of $2,000 for construction, alteration, and/or repairs (including painting and decorating), where the place of performance is in one or more of the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Covered employees are laborers, mechanics, guards, and watchmen employed upon the site of work. The issuing Agency could be Federal, State or Local Government.
